Co-sponsored by the National League of Cities (NLC), International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and Public Technology, Inc. (PTI), Access Local Government is a private information and communications forum delivered on CompuServe, Inc. Services include electronic mail, message board, conferences areas, and libraries of information on topics affecting local governments. Among the topic areas currently covered in libraries and messsage boards are telecommunications, public safety, transportation, federal legislation, performance measurement, children and families, and the environment. Information in the libraries is updated regularly and draws on the vast information resources of NLC, ICMA, and PTI. Library topics areas are also updated periodically to respond to current issues facing local governments.
